The helmet can be considered the simbol of the pilot and togheter the other flight equipments it is one of the interface between Man and the aircraft.The flight helmet provide the pilot vital features as reducing the powerful engine noise to a confortable level and impact protection, its integrated components as comunication, oxygen mask holding capability and sun light/windblast protection visor or google are essential for the pilot survival during the fligh and the combat. Basically the jet age headgear is not only a helmet but a complete system indispensable for he pilots' life. The following original US flight helmets are part of my personal collection.
